Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An interim leadership opportunity is available for a dedicated pharmacy professional specializing in inpatient behavioral health. This role requires overseeing pharmacy operations at a new behavioral health facility preparing to open its doors, with licensed beds expanding from an initial 12 to 96.
Location:
Florissant, MO (near St. Louis Lambert International Airport)
Job Type:
Contract (starting July 6, approximately 8+ weeks until permanent hire)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM with on-call duties Weekend on-call coverage only Additional support may be required during the initial startup phase
Key Responsibilities:
Lead pharmacy setup in coordination with the Area Director of Pharmacy and C-suite executives Procure and package medications and stock Pyxis automation systems Verify medication orders once patients are admitted Manage day-to-day pharmacy operations independently (no additional pharmacy staff or tech support) Ensure compliance with pharmacy standards and maintain open communication with leadership Participate in remote training provided by the
Area Director of Pharmacy Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Missouri Pharmacist license with Medication Therapy Services certification Proven experience in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy practice Proficiency with Pyxis automation systems is essential Familiarity with the HCS order entry system (training provided) Ability to function independently in a new and developing pharmacy environment Strong communication skills to interface effectively with executive leadership
