Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy leader to temporarily oversee pharmacy operations at a behavioral health facility in Independence, Missouri. This contract role will begin between April 27th and May 4th and continue until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired. The position requires a pharmacist licensed in Missouri in good standing, with a strong background in inpatient behavioral pharmacy settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the pharmacy opening and setup, including ordering medications in collaboration with nursing staff Stock and manage automated dispensing systems, primarily Omnicell Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures Provide on-call coverage on weekends and Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Maintain regular communication of progress and updates through weekly calls and emails
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Active Missouri pharmacist license with no restrictions Proven experience in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy Working knowledge of HCS or Cerner order entry systems preferred Familiarity with Omnicell automation systems preferred Ability to operate independently with no pharmacy technician support Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to manage setup and ongoing pharmacy functions Flexibility and adaptability to meet the challenges of a new facility opening
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Weekend on-call coverage only This contract opportunity offers a pivotal role in the launch of a new pharmacy service within a behavioral hospital.
