Travel We're hiring a licensed pharmacist to act as a Director of Pharmacy and a PIC for a contract position in West Plains, MO at a hospital where you will use clinical and operational expertise to ensure safe medication distribution across inpatient services. This role requires serving as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and performing Director of Pharmacy duties, including management of staff, committees, and medication safety initiatives. Minimum Qualifications:
Missouri pharmacist license required. Medication Therapy Services certification required. Recent inpatient pharmacy experience required. Experience with Meditech Expanse preferred (manages drug dictionary). Experience supervising pharmacists and technicians and performing Director/PIC responsibilities, including payroll, Pyxis user management, controlled substance ordering, and committee management. Experience with sterile compounding is preferred due to potential need during staff call-ins.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience running Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees and implementing approved initiatives. Experience in clinical areas that include OB, orthopedics, pediatrics, oncology, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, behavioral health, endocrinology, podiatry, general surgery, rheumatology, and wound care services.
Assignment Details Shift days:
Monday through Friday.
Shift hours:
0800-1630. Onsite training provided for two weeks prior to coverage start. Must serve as a resource to pharmacy staff for questions and concerns; no formal office on-call required. May need to perform sterile compounding duties on occasion if staffing requires. Will run daily weekday department huddles and monthly department meetings. Impacting Patient Care You will lead inpatient pharmacy operations in a hospital setting with a licensed bed capacity of 114 and an average daily census around 65. Your role will influence medication safety, supply chain management, formulary oversight, and interdisciplinary care through committee leadership and collaboration with medical staff.
