Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A growing healthcare organization is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join the launch of a new outpatient pharmacy in Newark, NJ. This full-time, contract-to-hire role offers the unique opportunity to establish pharmacy operations from the ground up while serving a diverse and underserved patient population in a community-focused setting.
Location:
Newark, NJ Schedule:
Monday through Saturday Day shift hours (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Saturday-only candidates will also be considered
Responsibilities:
Accurately verify and dispense prescriptions Provide medication counseling and patient education Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes Manage prescription processing, insurance issues, and access to medications Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and company regulations Support pharmacy workflow, quality initiatives, and patient care programs Foster a positive, patient-centered experience
Qualifications:
Active New Jersey Pharmacist License 1-2+ years of experience in community, retail, ambulatory care, or outpatient pharmacy settings Experience in community health, 340B programs, or underserved patient environments is highly preferred Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred Familiarity with PrimeRx, MicroMerchant, or similar pharmacy systems is a plus Strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and focus on patient care Why This Role?
