Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract This opportunity requires an experienced pharmacy leader to serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for a reputable behavioral health facility in Summit, NJ. This contract assignment offers a focused, hands-on leadership role within a well-supported clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Fulfill PIC duties with a minimum of 35 hours per week on-site presence Manage order verification and pharmacy operations, using HCS for order entry and Omnicell automation systems Participate in facility meetings, scheduling, and coordination with staff including one full-time technician and several per diem/part-time pharmacists and techs Support policy compliance and data collection for Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committee initiatives Provide leadership and relief to the current pharmacy staff Be available on-call after shifts and during weekends (on-call only)
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Licensed pharmacist in New Jersey with strong leadership background Proficiency with HCS order entry system required; experience with Omnicell automation is a plus Behavioral health pharmacy experience preferred Previous responsibilities in policy implementation and pharmacy clinical oversight Ability to maintain professional attire and a neat, clean appearance in alignment with facility standards
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, plus on-call coverage after shifts and on weekends (on-call only) This 6 to 8-week contract offers a meaningful position contributing to patient care quality at a well-respected behavioral health site recently inspected by both Joint Commission and state agencies. On-site training and strong staff support will be provided to ensure a smooth integration.
