Licensed Pharmacist Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Pharmacy assists the Director of Pharmacy in enforcing policies and procedures for the storage and preparation of pharmaceuticals and ensuring the pharmacy provides superior services, meets or exceeds all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements, and follows all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards of the facility.Wage Commensuration:
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Pharmacy in developing, enforcing, and maintaining policies and procedures that promote cost-effective, appropriate, and safe drug therapy. Assist with ensuring order-fills are consistent with the state-approved medication formulary. Assist in supervision of drug storage and preparation areas throughout the health system. Assist in providing for educational needs of healthcare professionals, patients, and their families in the health system. Assist in ensuring maintenance and integrity of an adequate drug supply and assists in establishment of procurement and purchasing specifications for drugs, chemicals, and biologicals. Assist in ensuring strict control and accountability for drugs dispensed to patients or distributed to floor stock. Assist in the adequate control and documentation of controlled substances. Perform other supervisory duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy. Functions as the Director of Pharmacy in his/her absence. Contribute to the quality and effectiveness of the pharmacy department.Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree required. Possess license in good standing to practice pharmacy in state of employment. Three to five (3-5) years hospital experience preferred. One to two years (1-2) in a pharmacy management position with experience managing people and processes preferred. Trained in general use of pharmacy computer systems. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products, with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Ability to meet occupational health requirements where required. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergency requests. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).Benefits:
