Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail Job Type Contract To Hire An opportunity is available for an experienced retail pharmacy technician with specialty retail background to support a busy pharmacy serving complex patients managing multiple medications daily. This position requires strong communication, patience, and in-depth knowledge of a wide range of drugs commonly dispensed in retail settings.

Location:

Cleveland, OH Employment type: Contract to hire, 13-week duration Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis Effectively communicate with patients who may have low literacy and require additional patience and compassion Collaborate with healthcare providers and team members to ensure safe and effective medication therapy Utilize pharmacy software (Rx30 preferred) for processing prescriptions and maintaining patient records Maintain compliance with state licensing and regulatory requirements

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Previous retail pharmacy technician experience, with specialty pharmacy preferred Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 medications commonly dispensed in retail pharmacy environments Experience working with Medicare/Medicaid populations and low-income patients Compassionate and patient with a demonstrated ability to assist patients who may have limited literacy Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification highly preferred Familiarity with Rx30 pharmacy software is a strong plus This role offers the chance to join a specialty retail pharmacy team focused on providing medication management for a complex patient population across multiple locations nationally.
