Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract An established specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a contract-to-hire placement. This role focuses on supporting complex patient care by assisting with the dispensing and management of multiple medications for patients dealing with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
Location:
Grove City, OH Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM No weekends
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients managing multiple chronic conditions Provide compassionate, clear communication to patients with low literacy levels, particularly Medicare and Medicaid recipients Utilize pharmacy software (Pioneer Rx preferred, training available) Collaborate closely with pharmacists and healthcare providers to optimize patient care Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with pharmacy protocols
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Prior experience as a retail or specialty pharmacy technician, especially working with complex pharmaceutical regimens Strong patient communication skills, particularly with individuals experiencing advanced chronic illnesses Knowledge of the top 200-400 medications used in retail pharmacy settings Familiarity with specialty medications highly preferred Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification preferred but not mandatory Valid pharmacy technician license for Ohio Demonstrated reliability and professionalism through references Experience or willingness to work with Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patient populations displaying compassion and patience This opportunity offers the potential for contract extension or conversion to a permanent role based on performance.
