Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract An established specialty retail pharmacy seeks an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Hilliard, OH. This role focuses on supporting patients with complex medication needs, often managing 8-15 medications daily, requiring strong communication skills and in-depth pharmaceutical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process prescriptions and medication orders using Pioneer Rx software (training provided if needed). Assist and educate patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis. Collaborate closely with pharmacists to ensure high-quality patient care. Support a patient base primarily consisting of Medicare/Medicaid recipients with low literacy levels, demonstrating patience and empathy. Maintain detailed and precise records while adhering to pharmacy regulations and standards. Qualifications /
Desired Experience:
Proven retail or specialty pharmacy technician experience, especially with chronic disease patient populations. Strong communication skills with the ability to work patiently and compassionately with diverse patients. Familiarity with common retail medications (top 200-400 drugs) preferred. Experience with Pioneer Rx software is a plus; training is available. Valid Pharmacy Technician license in Ohio. PTCB certification is highly preferred but not mandatory. Previous experience supporting patients with chronic illnesses must be clearly detailed in the resume. Ability to provide references highlighting reliability, patient interaction, and specialty pharmacy knowledge.
Schedule & Location:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Position located in Hilliard, OH. This role begins as a 13-week contract with strong potential for a contract-to-hire transition based on performance.
