Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail Job Type Contract To Hire An experienced retail pharmacy technician is needed for a 13-week contract to hire position in Lorain, OH. This role supports a specialty retail pharmacy that focuses on managing complex patients who often take 8-15 medications daily. Candidates with strong communication skills, patience, and a thorough knowledge of 200-400 common retail medications will excel in this environment.

Responsibilities:

Accurately process and dispense medications while adhering to standard protocols. Provide compassionate patient counseling, especially to those with low literacy rates and complex chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Use pharmacy software, preferably Rx30, to manage prescriptions and patient records. Collaborate effectively with pharmacy staff and healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care. Adhere to all regulatory requirements and maintain patient confidentiality.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

Proven background in retail pharmacy, with specialty pharmacy experience highly preferred. Comfortable working with Medicare/Medicaid populations and low-income patients. Patience and strong interpersonal skills to support patients managing advanced chronic diseases. Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with pharmacy software Rx30 is a distinct advantage.
