#LI-BMN Department Overview Outpatient prescriptions and patient care are provided by seven retail pharmacies serving adult outpatients, pediatric outpatients/discharge patients, ophthalmology patients and clinic patients. As the Pharmacy Technician Manager responsibilities include direct supervision of pharmacy technicians and education/training of staff, residents, interns and students. This person in this position is expected to create, enhance, and implement existing or new pharmacy services and initiatives. In addition, they will serve as a leader in an administrative role. The person in this position will collaborate with other pharmacy administrators on compliance, quality, and safety assessments in conjunction with ongoing monitoring. They will be held accountable for process improvement, maintenance of practice standards, and compliance with accreditation standards and applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, the person in this position is expected to coordinate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure operational efficiency that will have positive impact on patient outcomes.
Function/Duties of Position Operations Management:
Manages day-to-day operations of technician work in outpatient pharmacy location ensuring a safe, efficient, cost-effective, and professional work environment. Redesigns and develops processes and programs for maximum safety and efficiency. Problem-solves issues identified by staff and internal/external customers. Oversees technician leaders and appropriately delegates responsibilities within the medication use system.
Human Resources:
Recruits, hires, trains, develops, and supervises assigned staff. Develops performance standards, conducts performance appraisals and GROW conversations.
Compliance:
Assures compliance and adherence to OHSU department standards, policies, procedures, as well as Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations. Maintains and updates policies and procedures.
