Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire A critical access illness recovery hospital is seeking a dedicated professional to lead their pharmacy department as Director of Pharmacy. This full-time, direct hire role is based in York, PA, and offers the opportunity to manage the clinical, operational, staffing, and financial aspects of a hospital pharmacy focused on delivering world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the pharmacy team in preparation and management of all drugs and chemicals. Ensure compliance with standards set by The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory bodies. Manage and administer the Adverse Drug Reaction Program. Develop and implement training and education programs for new employees. Participate in quality assurance initiatives related to drug utilization and effectiveness. Monitor patient drug therapy and develop at least one clinically oriented program annually (e.g., Pharmacokinetic Dosing Service, Patient Counseling, Pain Management, Nutritional Support). Foster an environment committed to continuous quality improvement. Provide teaching and counseling to patients and their families. Collaborate closely with the CEO and clinical teams to align pharmacy operations with hospital goals.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of all educational requirements for state licensure. Minimum of three years of hospital experience within the past five years. Current state pharmacy license and BLS certification if required by state.
Preferred:
PharmD or BS Pharm with advanced degree or hospital pharmacy residency.
Preferred:
At least one year in a managerial role. Board certification and/or residency highly valued.
