Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire A leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy at a critical access illness recovery hospital dedicated to delivering exceptional inpatient post-ICU care for critically ill patients in need of extended healing and recovery. This full-time role is located in York, PA, and plays an integral part in fostering a patient-centered culture focused on celebrating achievements, owning the future, creating change, and building trust.
Responsibilities:
Lead the clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management of the hospital pharmacy. Collaborate closely with the CEO and clinical teams to support facility goals. Ensure accurate preparation and dispensing of all medications and chemicals. Maintain compliance with standards from The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory agencies. Oversee and manage the Adverse Drug Reaction Program. Develop and participate in training and education programs for new pharmacy staff. Engage in quality assurance initiatives related to drug utilization and effectiveness. Monitor patient drug therapy to promote optimal outcomes. Develop at least one new clinically oriented program annually (e.g., Pharmacokinetic Dosing Service, Patient Counseling, Pain Management, Nutritional Support). Promote continuous quality improvement and provide patient and family education and counseling.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of all educational requirements for state licensure. Minimum of 3 years hospital pharmacy experience within the last 5 years. Current state pharmacy license required. BLS certification if mandated by state.
Preferred:
PharmD or BS Pharmacy with advanced degree or hospital residency completion. At least 1 year in a managerial role preferred. Board Certification and/or Residency highly desirable.
