Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire This full-time Director of Pharmacy position is based in York, PA, at a critical access illness recovery hospital dedicated to delivering world-class inpatient post-ICU care to chronic, critically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery. The role offers an opportunity to lead the hospital's pharmacy department, working closely with the CEO and clinical teams to ensure the highest standards of patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management of the hospital pharmacy. Accurately prepare all drugs and chemicals following safety and quality protocols. Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards. Manage and administer the Adverse Drug Reaction Program. Develop and deliver employee training and educational initiatives. Participate in quality assurance efforts related to drug utilization and effectiveness. Monitor patient drug therapy and develop at least one clinically oriented program annually (e.g., Pharmacokinetic Dosing Service, Patient Counseling, Pain Management, Nutritional Support). Foster a continuous quality improvement environment. Provide education and counseling to patients and their families.
Qualifications:
Completion of all educational requirements for state licensure. Minimum of three years of hospital experience within the past five years. Current BLS certification if required by the state. Valid pharmacy license in the state of practice.
Preferred:
PharmD or BS Pharmacy with an advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency. At least one year in a managerial role. Board Certification and/or residency preferred.
