Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire Lead the pharmacy operations at a specialized critical illness recovery hospital dedicated to delivering exceptional inpatient post-ICU care for chronically and critically ill patients. As the Director of Pharmacy, you will oversee the clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management of the hospital pharmacy while fostering collaboration with the CEO and interdisciplinary clinical teams.

Full Time Responsibilities:
Direct and manage all aspects of the pharmacy department ensuring safe and effective drug preparation and dispensing Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory requirements Administer and manage the Adverse Drug Reaction Program Develop, implement, and participate in employee training and education initiatives Engage in quality assurance programs focused on drug utilization and patient outcomes Monitor patient drug therapy and promote patient counseling and education Develop at least one clinically oriented program annually (e.g., Pharmacokinetic Dosing Service, Pain Management, Nutritional Support Services) Champion continuous quality improvement strategies throughout the pharmacy Provide teaching and counseling support to patients and their families
Qualifications:
Successful completion of all educational requirements for state licensure Minimum three years of hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years Current state pharmacy license and BLS certification if required
Preferred:
PharmD or BS Pharmacy plus advanced degree or hospital pharmacy residency
Preferred:
At least one year of pharmacy management experience Board Certification and/or Residency highly desirable
