Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract Located in Byron Center, MI, an opportunity has opened for a Director of Pharmacy to oversee pharmacy operations at a behavioral health facility with an average daily census of 40 patients. This contractor role requires a Michigan pharmacist license in good standing and offers a chance to lead pharmacy services in a specialized behavioral health setting.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Saturday (remote), 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM The role involves serving as both the Director of Pharmacy and the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), with an immediate start preferred. Coverage through approximately eight weeks is needed, beginning as soon as possible and continuing after the current director's last day on May 22nd until the permanent position is filled.
Responsibilities:
Oversee order verification and ensure accuracy in medication dispensing Maintain inventory and manage medication supplies efficiently Utilize the HCS order entry system (experience preferred) Operate Omnicell automated system for medication management (experience preferred) Ensure adherence to facility protocols in a behavioral health environment Manage pharmacy operations independently without technician support Comply with dress code by wearing provided purple scrubs
Qualifications:
Active Michigan pharmacist license in good standing Previous experience with HCS order entry system is preferred Familiarity with Omnicell automation strongly preferred Experience in behavioral health pharmacy operations is a plus Strong organizational and leadership skills to oversee pharmacy services Located near Gerald Ford International Airport (GRR), this role offers convenient access for those able to travel or relocate within the region. The contract position provides a leadership opportunity in a specialized pharmacy setting with defined hours and a focused patient population.
