Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply. As a Pharmacy Manager, you will provide clinical and administrative supervision to licensed pharmacists and pharmacy staff including:
  • Collaborating with psychiatrists and medical staff regarding individuals' treatment goals and objectives
  • Ensuring compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and practice standards
  • Conducting audits and inspections of pharmaceutical inventories, storage, and records
  • Preparing pharmacy budgets and monitoring expenditures Minimum QualificationsCandidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Pharmacy Manager if they have 5 years of professional post-licensure experience as a Pharmacist, 1 year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity in a pharmacy related setting.
OR Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Pharmacy Manager eligible list. OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. OR In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Pharmacy Manager at Hutchings Psychiatric Center. Permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion of an applicant who meets the position's minimum qualifications if all requirements of non-competitive promotion are met. The promotion field for the Pharmacy Manager position consists of candidates who have 1 year of permanent service as a Pharmacy Supervisor. Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 29 ($118,425) and Geographic Pay Differential ($11,000); and the posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate ($145,039) and Geographic Pay Differential ($11,000).
