Job Description

Role Overview Pharmacy First Health is redefining rural healthcare by transforming community pharmacies into integrated care hubs. We are looking for a Pharmacy Clerk to join our team in San Augustine, TX ! This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about their community and interested in healthcare. Key Responsibilities Operate the front shop register, process customer transactions accurately, and maintain a welcoming, organized checkout area. Assist customers with product inquiries, locate items throughout the store, and escalate complex or clinical questions to the pharmacist. Support the pharmacy team as needed, including helping with prescription intake, labeling, and general workflow tasks during busy periods. Receive and process prescription orders from patients and healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and timely communication. Manage front shop and pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, receiving deliveries, and flagging low-supply items. Handle insurance claim processing and assist patients with billing and payment questions at the point of sale. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant environment in accordance with state and federal regulations and HIPAA requirements. Communicate clearly and compassionately with customers and patients, fostering a positive in-store experience. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent (required). Willingness to obtain state pharmacy technician registration or licensure. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. Friendly, professional communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging directly with customers. Basic computer proficiency; experience with point-of-sale or pharmacy software is a plus. Ability to stand for extended periods and thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented setting.
Pay:
$9.00 - $19.00 per hour
