Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract A behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA is urgently seeking a Pharmacist to fill a working Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) role. This opportunity involves supporting a brand-new facility developed through a joint venture between leading healthcare organizations. The position offers an immediate start with a contract length of 13 weeks or longer, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role.

Lynchburg, VA Schedule:
Monday to Friday Day shifts
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the working Pharmacist-in-Charge, managing daily pharmacy operations Dispense medications accurately and efficiently to patients Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to provide expert pharmaceutical consultations Supervise and oversee pharmacy technicians to ensure compliance and quality standards Maintain and restock Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) Ensure adherence to hospital policies and regulatory requirements within the pharmacy
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Active pharmacist license and eligibility to work in Virginia Proven experience in a clinical or hospital pharmacy setting, preferably behavioral health Experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or similar supervisory role is highly desirable Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams Detail-oriented with solid organizational and leadership abilities This contract role provides an opportunity to contribute to the launch and success of a new hospital pharmacy service, making a tangible impact on patient care in behavioral health.
