Pharmacy Director

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An immediate opening exists for a Pharmacist to serve as the working Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a new behavioral hospital facility. This opportunity is a contract assignment with potential to transition to permanent status. The hospital is located in the Lynchburg, VA area and represents a joint venture between two established healthcare organizations. The assignment is expected to start as soon as possible and will last approximately 13 weeks. Responsibilities include dispensing medications, consulting with nursing staff and physicians, overseeing pharmacy technicians, and managing the restocking of automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs). This position requires hands-on involvement in daily pharmacy operations within a small behavioral health setting.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

Licensed Pharmacist with a valid VA license Experience working as a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), preferably in a behavioral health or hospital environment Strong communication skills with clinical teams Ability to manage pharmacy technicians and inventory controls effectively Flexibility to travel or relocate to the Lynchburg, VA area for the duration of the contract
