Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An urgent opening exists for a Pharmacist working as the Pharmacy-in-Charge (PIC) at a small behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a brand-new facility created through a joint venture between two prominent health organizations. The role is a contract engagement starting immediately, with a duration of 13 weeks or more, and the possibility of temp-to-hire.
Location:
Lynchburg, VA Schedule:
Monday through Friday, day shifts
Key Responsibilities:
Function as the working PIC ensuring smooth pharmacy operations Dispense medications accurately and efficiently Provide clinical consultations and collaborate closely with physicians and nurses Oversee pharmacy technicians and manage their workflow Maintain and restock Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
Desired Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Pharmacist Experience as a PIC or in a leadership pharmacy role preferred Ability to work independently in a fast-paced behavioral health setting Strong teamwork and communication skills, especially with clinical staff Detail-oriented with good organizational and multitasking capabilities This position is essential to maintaining quality pharmacy services for a new hospital serving behavioral health patients.
