Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire A leadership role overseeing pharmaceutical services across a hospital setting is available. The position is based in Yorktown, VA, and offers full-time hours. This opportunity is a direct hire placement suited for pharmacy professionals with managerial experience.
Responsibilities:
Lead the daily operations of the Pharmacy Department, supervising supervisors and staff. Ensure all pharmacy personnel receive ongoing training, support, and performance feedback focused on results and skill growth. Develop department objectives aligned with regulatory standards including Joint Commission, DOH, and Board of Pharmacy guidelines. Collaborate on budget planning including operational expenses and capital equipment needs. Serve on hospital committees, contributing pharmacy expertise to policy development and program implementation. Maintain compliance systems for prescriber authorization and pharmaceutical supply management. Assume the duties of a Staff Pharmacist as needed to maintain service quality.
Qualifications or Desired Experience:
Current state pharmacist license required. At least three years of hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years. Proven ability to manage pharmacy operations efficiently within a healthcare environment.
Preferred:
One year of management experience in a pharmacy setting.
