Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire This leadership opportunity is for a Director of Pharmacy in Yorktown, VA, working full time to oversee comprehensive pharmaceutical services within a hospital setting. The role ensures high-quality pharmacy operations, clinical services delivery, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the daily operations of the Pharmacy Department, supervising supervisors and staff to optimize service quality, productivity, and cost effectiveness. Develop and implement departmental objectives aligned with standards such as Joint Commission and Board of Pharmacy requirements. Provide ongoing training, performance feedback, and development opportunities to pharmacy staff to enhance skills and engagement. Collaborate on budget planning related to capital equipment, operational expenses, and revenue projections. Maintain communication of hospital pharmacy policies and procedures and serve on hospital committees as needed. Manage systems for proper prescription authorization and pharmaceutical supply requisitioning and dispensing. Perform responsibilities consistent with those of a clinical Staff Pharmacist to support pharmacy functions.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current pharmacist license in the state. At least three years of hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years. Proven ability to manage pharmacy operations efficiently within a healthcare organization. One year of managerial experience preferred.
