Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead our pharmacy operations with enthusiasm and expertise. This vital role involves overseeing daily pharmacy activities, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and delivering exceptional patient care. As a Pharmacy Manager, you will foster a collaborative environment that promotes clinical excellence, efficient medication management, and outstanding patient service. Your leadership will drive the team toward achieving operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and compassion. Responsibilities Lead and supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent patient service. Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and preparing IV infusions with aseptic technique. Manage inventory levels efficiently, ensuring proper stock control while minimizing waste and shortages. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, medical management protocols, and pharmacy laws across all activities. Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy, including pediatrics and critical care cases. Utilize pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to document patient interactions accurately. Oversee immunization programs, medication administration procedures, and pain management protocols in accordance with clinical guidelines. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques during sterile compounding and IV insertion procedures. Collaborate with healthcare providers on medical management plans involving pharmacotherapy for acute care patients. Lead initiatives in patient care improvement through education on physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication safety practices. Manage hospital-based pharmacy services, including inventory control for specialized medications used in LTC (Long-Term Care) settings and critical care units. Experience Proven experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital pharmacy settings with a focus on acute care or critical care environments. Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience with a strong background in pediatrics, pain management, immunizations, and IV infusion therapies. Prior pharmacy residency or equivalent advanced training highly preferred. Extensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration techniques. Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards and patient privacy protocols. Experience supervising pharmacy staff including pharmacists and technicians within a fast-paced healthcare setting. Ability to perform IV insertion procedures safely and competently in hospital or clinical environments.
