Modern office setting Our organization is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to become a part of our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of inpatient and long term care, and is willing to work all shifts including weekends. This position requires the ability to work independently and make important decisions in a timely manner. The successful candidate for this position will utilize their technical skills, knowledge of patient medications and ability to communicate effectively in a highly sensitive environment.
Responsibilities:
Check medications to be dispensed, the amount of each dose and how often it should be taken. Make sure labels are accurate. Counts all pills packed twice to make sure order is correct. Assists with maintenance of an adequate inventory of medications and other supplies by checking expiration dates and rotating stock. Make sure each drug has the right quantity and NDC # for each. Verify that the NDC on the bottle of the drug being packed matches the NDC on the label. Processes medications returned from the facilities for credit or destruction. Pulls totes and separate them by each group. Scan each tote to make sure the lot# is correct and written on each paper. Press all drugs and make sure the labels on them are readable. Prepares medication for delivery to customers and waits for the signature from the courier before all totes are sent out.
