Job Overview As a Compounding Pharmacy Technician , you'll play a vital role in preparing high-quality medications for our veterinary patients. From blending ingredients to maintaining strict quality control, you'll ensure that every medication reflects the care our clients and their furry friends deserve. Key Responsibilities Prescription Order Fulfillment Accurately pick, label, and package prescription medications following company protocols. Ensure proper handling and storage of medications to maintain potency and compliance. Verify orders for accuracy before final approval and shipment. Regulatory and Quality Assurance Compliance Maintain accurate records of filled prescriptions, batch numbers, and expiration dates. Follow all state and federal pharmacy regulations, including USP and FDA guidelines. Report any discrepancies or quality concerns to the pharmacist in charge. Inventory and Supply Management Track inventory levels and notify purchasing personnel of low stock. Ensure proper labeling and storage of medications and fulfillment supplies. Conduct routine inventory checks and participate in cycle counts. Shipping and Packaging Properly package medications for shipment, ensuring compliance with handling regulations. Verify addresses, shipping labels, and carrier requirements to prevent delays. Maintain accurate tracking and documentation of shipped orders. Safety and Security Protocols Adhere to all safety protocols for handling hazardous and non-hazardous medications. Follow proper disposal procedures for expired or damaged products. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent contamination or errors. Process Improvement and Efficiency Identify opportunities for streamlining fulfillment processes to enhance efficiency. Assist in the development and implementation of improved workflow solutions. Participate in corrective and preventive action plans as needed. Training and Development Participate in ongoing training programs related to pharmacy fulfillment best practices. Support training of new employees on order processing and fulfillment procedures. Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry standards. Team Collaboration Work closely with pharmacists, technicians, and quality assurance personnel to ensure seamless order processing. Attend daily stand-up meetings to align on priorities and discuss any fulfillment concerns. Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure timely order completion. 10. General Support Assist with packaging, labeling, and dispensing of compounded medications as required. Support other pharmacy operations, including non-compounding tasks, during downtime or as needed.
When You'll Work Monday-Thursday:
8:00 AM - 5:00
PM Friday:
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM(Eventually will be 5:00PM with no weekends!)
What You Bring Education:
High School Diploma or GED (required).
Preferred Experience:
Alabama Pharmacy Technician certification or similar credentials. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment. A meticulous and disciplined approach to following guidelines and procedures. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally (assistance available) and stand for extended periods.
