Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Pharmacy IV Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and safety. In this vital role, you will prepare and dispense sterile IV medications, ensuring precise formulation and aseptic technique. Your critical care experience and knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations will support our mission to deliver exceptional medication management in acute care settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment, utilizing your LTC pharmacy background and medical terminology skills to improve patient outcomes through meticulous medication preparation and patient service. Responsibilities Prepare sterile IV medications with strict adherence to aseptic techniques, ensuring medication safety and integrity. Assist in medication intake and verification processes, accurately documenting all pharmacy activities. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care through precise medication administration and infusion therapy. Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, including critical care standards and LTC pharmacy guidelines. Monitor medication inventory levels, restocking supplies as needed to support continuous patient treatment. Follow all safety procedures related to medication handling, including proper disposal of hazardous materials. Document all compounding activities thoroughly, including batch records and quality control checks. Skills Proven experience in LTC pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or acute care settings with a focus on IV infusion preparation. Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration protocols. Demonstrated expertise in aseptic technique and sterile compounding procedures. Critical care experience is highly desirable, with the ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure environments. Knowledge of pharmacy technician responsibilities, including intake procedures and medication documentation. Ability to work effectively within a healthcare team while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
