Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract A Pharmacy Technician is needed to provide flexible coverage across two hospital sites in the Los Angeles area. This travel position requires floating between Gardena Memorial and Coast Plaza Hospital, which are approximately 20 miles apart, offering a dynamic inpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and fill medications into Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets Compound IVs, IV piggybacks (IVPBs), and total parenteral nutrition (TPNs) Deliver medications to various nursing units in a timely manner Answer phones and assist with medication order inquiries Utilize order entry systems, specifically Allscripts and Paragon, for medication management

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Prior inpatient pharmacy technician experience is required Proficient in making IVs and working with Pyxis systems Familiarity with Allscripts and Paragon order entry systems preferred Ability to work variable day and afternoon shifts across multiple sites Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential

Coverage between two hospitals located in Gardena, CA, and Norwalk, CA (approximately 20 miles apart)

Contract Details:

Contract duration: 8 weeks or longer Flexible scheduling to accommodate day and afternoon shifts This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced hospital pharmacy environment while gaining diverse experience across two facilities.
