Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem (Merced GVHC Pharmacy) Golden Valley Health Centers - 3.1 Merced, CA Job Details Part-time $23.56 - $24.74 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications CPR Certification Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) BLS Certification High school diploma or GED Patient interaction Full Job Description Golden Valley Health Centers is hiring for a Per Diem Pharmacy Technician for our Modesto and Merced Pharmacy locations. The Pharmacy Technician, will have the availability to work Monday - Friday 7:30am-7:00pm; Saturday 8:30am-12:30pm.
THIS IS A PER DIEM POSITION.
The Pharmacy Technician will assist the pharmacist in the performance of pharmacy related duties. Under the direct supervision and control of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician performs packaging, manipulative, repetitive, or other nondiscretionary tasks within established standards and guidelines. The Pharmacy Technician may also perform clerical functions. This position will support our Merced Pharmacy.
Compensation:
$23.56 - $24.74 an hour Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide assistance to the pharmacist to support the delivery of safe, effective medication therapy Removing medications from stock, counting, repackaging, affixing labels to the container(s) and presents to the Pharmacist for verification.
Clerical functions:
Collects, enters and updates patient specific data into pharmacy systems for prescription and billing processing including but not limited to third party payers, delivery preferences, allergies etc. Processes prescriptions and ensures that third party adjudication process is complete in accordance with GVHC procedures. Assists Patients at the cash register. Interacts with all patients, external pharmacies, medical providers, other staff members etc. in a professional, friendly and courteous manner to optimize customer service and patient outcomes. Call patients to remind them to pick up their medications and coordinate delivery. Prepares and processes prior authorization, treatment authorization requests and other payment issues. Assists in performing audit control functions. Stocking pharmacy supplies on the appropriate shelf. Receives and stores incoming supplies, counts stock and enters data into management system(s). Assist with the maintenance of all paperwork and filing as required. Maintains orderly, clean environment in the Pharmacy. Perform other Duties as assigned. Min. Qualifications Excellent Communication Skills, ability to successfully interact with patients, family members, and staff Ability to use electronic health records and pharmacy management software, interact collaboratively with medical care team and other staff members; collect data and participate in relevant reporting processes. Physical Demands Lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and push 100 pounds on wheels. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. High manual dexterity. Reach above shoulder level, bend, squat, sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, kneel, twist/turn, and good finger sensation. Hearing adequate for phone work and clear speech for staff and patient communication. Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually average. Education/Experience Requirements High School graduate or GED, Pharmacy Technician Certification, one year of experience preferred. Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR Certification Previous high volume retail pharmacy experience preferred. Acceptable driving record, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
