The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medication administration, patient service, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in long-term care (LTC) and critical care settings is highly desirable. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and ensuring a positive experience for patients. Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and pharmacy regulations. Perform intake duties, including gathering patient information and verifying prescriptions. Administer medications under the supervision of a pharmacist, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in acute care settings to optimize patient care outcomes. Support IV infusion preparation and administration as needed, following established guidelines. Ensure that all pharmacy operations comply with legal, regulatory, and safety standards. Skills Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in LTC or hospital settings. Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care. Familiarity with aseptic technique and IV infusion processes is essential. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and care. Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while managing multiple tasks efficiently. Critical thinking skills for problem-solving in high-pressure situations related to medication administration. Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in medication dispensing and record keeping.
