Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring accurate medication management, and providing exceptional patient service. Your expertise will support critical care environments, including LTC (Long-Term Care), hospital, and acute care settings, where precision and patient safety are paramount. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care through medication preparation, inventory management, and adherence to aseptic techniques. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding sterile IV infusions using aseptic technique in compliance with safety standards. Manage medication inventory, ensuring proper storage, stock levels, and timely reordering to prevent shortages. Accurately process medication intake and dispense prescriptions while verifying patient information and medical orders. Support critical care units by providing specialized LTC pharmacy services and managing medications for acute care patients. Ensure adherence to hospital policies and medical terminology standards during medication administration and documentation. Maintain meticulous records of medication dispensing, inventory logs, and patient interactions for compliance and quality assurance. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care through effective medication management and patient service. Qualifications Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong background in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings. Critical care experience is highly preferred, especially involving IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique. Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and acute care protocols. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient service with a focus on patient care and safety. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems, inventory management, and intake processes. Certification as a pharmacy technician according to state or national regulations is required; additional certifications in IV infusion or aseptic techniques are advantageous.
