Shield HealthCare is looking for a Pharmacy Summer Intern in our Valencia, CA corporate office to support licensed pharmacists in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient medication services. This role combines hands-on pharmacy operations with ongoing clinical learning, allowing the intern to apply academic knowledge in a real-world healthcare environment. This is an on-site position in Valencia, CA

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist pharmacists in prescription entry (fax and e-prescriptions). Provide excellent customer service by calling customers with pending orders to arrange consent and delivery. Perform stock rotation and check for expired products to remove from shelves. Assist pharmacists in conducting medication reconciliation by gathering patient histories and documenting information accurately. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy work environment following state and federal regulations. Assist with quality assurance tasks, such as checking temperatures, logging data, and verifying workflow accuracy. Participate in clinical learning, staff meetings, and training sessions to develop professional competency. Ability to maintain sensitive patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations. Understand and apply all federal and state laws. Other duties and projects may be assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in healthcare, healthcare administration, public health, health sciences, or a related field Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work accurately in a fastpaced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

SALARY:

$17.85-19/hour
