Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support night shift operations at a healthcare facility in Gardena, CA. This travel assignment encompasses an 8 to 13-week duration, offering a structured 5 on/5 off schedule with 10-hour night shifts from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The position involves working in a 173 licensed bed hospital with an average daily census of 140 patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and compound intravenous (IV) medications, including IV piggybacks (IVPBs) and total parenteral nutrition (TPNs). Accurately fill Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets. Answer phone inquiries related to pharmacy services. Deliver medications promptly to nursing units. Utilize the Allscripts/Paragon order entry system to process medication orders. Maintain strict adherence to safety and quality standards in medication preparation and distribution.

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience is required. Competence in preparing IVs and working with Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets. Familiarity with order entry systems, specifically trained in Allscripts/Paragon, is highly preferred. Ability to perform efficiently during night shifts, demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills.

Schedule/Hours:

Night shift: 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 5 consecutive days on followed by 5 consecutive days off. 10-hour shifts, providing a balanced work-life structure over the assignment period.
