Pharmacy Technician Associate PRN Children's Hospital Colorado - 3.8 Aurora, CO Job Details PRN $18.44 - $27.67 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Wellness program Paid sick time Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Job Overview The Pharmacy Technician Associate has a provisional PHAT certification and works under the direction of a certified Pharmacy Technician or a licensed Pharmacist to learn the job skills of a pharmacy technician while preparing for PHAT certification exam. Performs and assists with a variety of technical procedures to support pharmacy operations.

Shift:
Days/evenings (not a set schedule) and rotating weekends and holiday commitments.
Shift Times:
5:00am-1:30pm, 6:00am-2:30pm, 2:00pm-10:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm
Weekend Requirement:
One (1) weekend/month (every 4th weekend), rotation determined by business need and training.
Holiday Requirement:
Two (2) major holidays/year. Position is eligible for shift differentials (PRN, evening & weekend). This position pays $19.50/hour Duties & Responsibilities Prepares medications, under the direction of a higher-level pharmacy technician or a pharmacist, in accordance with hospital policy and procedure. Assists in inventory management including following department policies and procedures to manage outdated medications, cycle counts, unit inspections and medication transfer. Assists in restocking medications as needed. Assists in preparation of medications for dispensing through pharmacy software while verifying lot and expiration numbers; learns pharmacy software procedures to utilize when preparing medications. Learns and applies standard pharmaceutical/medical terms, abbreviations and symbols commonly used in the prescribing and dispensing of medications. Learns arithmetic calculations for usual dosage determinations required in medication preparation. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, quality improvement, environmental and infection control standards, adheres to regulatory requirements and maintains environmental cleanliness of the pharmacy areas in accordance with regulatory and policy requirements. Escalates errors and adverse drug events using the hospital variance reporting program (QSRS). Participates in accreditation surveys and audits. May assist with shipping medications, monthly clinical assessments and ordering medications. May interact and communicate with patients, families, providers, and co-workers including point of sale, benefit investigation and insurance coordination. Minimum Qualifications Degrees High School Diploma or GED Licenses & Certifications Provisional State of Colorado (PHATP) Certificate •Due within 30 days of hire Salary Information Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Hourly Range:
