Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care through accurate medication preparation, dispensing, and patient service. Will comply with HIPPA regulations as trained and as described in Medical Records Policy that is routinely available to the position. Collect data required by the pharmacy software and state regulations from the patient. This includes up to date insurance information. Efforts will be directed to substantiate low income status or slide status Input new and refill prescriptions in the computer. The cost of the drug will be checked. Fill the prescription and place the prescription and paper work together for the pharmacist to provide a final review. Only the pharmacist will be responsible for providing the final check on the medication. The Technician is responsible to check NDC on label against the bottle to ensure that the correct medication is in the bottle Cleaning the pharmacy area, in general, daily and periodically dusting the shelves, excluding those cleaning duties performed by the housekeeping staff. Responsible for checking for outdated medications monthly. Will package all mail order prescriptions after they have been checked by the Pharmacist for mailing and help with the selling of products. Will prepare itemized invoices from Wholesalers for delivery to accounting, including matching copies of invoices where appropriate. Making copies of Control Invoices for the Pharmacy file, imputing price changes in the computer. Ensure that adequate forms for pharmacy purposes are available at all times and filed as completed. Will count and label prescription medication. All medications must be check by the Pharmacist before dispensing. Will total the cash register out at the end of each day. Responsible for attending monthly staff meetings and other meeting/training sessions as required. Above all the Technician will keep patient confidentiality in the performance of the job. Will maintain CE's as necessary for licensure and national certification. Will follow Universal Precautions. Must become a Certified Pharmacy Technician within 18 months of being hired. Qualifications Current on CPR/BLS Certification within 6 month of employment then to stay up to date Team player Support and assist team members.
