Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract A Pharmacy Technician role is available in Clearwater, FL for a 13-week contract assignment. This position requires a detail-oriented professional experienced in prescription processing and pharmacy operations to support a busy pharmacy environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a start date as soon as cleared (approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks after offer acceptance).
Key Responsibilities:
Process and fill prescriptions accurately while handling insurance adjudications and resolving any claim rejections. Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification to ensure compliance and patient safety. Perform data entry and manage prescription documentation; communicate effectively with patients and prescribers to clarify information. Maintain inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and review of medication expiration dates. Assist in handling medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures following regulatory standards. Cross-train across various pharmacy functions and support team needs to maintain workflow efficiency. Ensure adherence to HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance guidelines throughout all duties.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
High School diploma or GED required. Current PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing. Minimum of 2 years' experience as a pharmacy technician; call center experience is preferred. Strong multitasking abilities with excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective communication skills when interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
