Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing quality pharmaceutical care to patients. Your responsibilities will include preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining inventory, and providing excellent customer service.Responsibilities:
- Non-sterile compounding
- Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Ensure accuracy in medication labeling and packaging
- Maintain proper storage and security of medications
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering and restocking medications
- Process prescription requests and insurance claims
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Answer phone calls and address inquiries or concerns
- Maintain patient records accurately and confidentially
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements:
- Non-sterile compounding
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience
- Current pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
- Familiarity with pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations, including medication administration and compounding techniques
- Experience working in a hospital or acute care setting is highly desirable
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and inventory management
- Familiarity with aseptic technique for sterile compounding procedures
