Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding and labeling prescriptions accurately. Manage medication inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and proper storage conditions. Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions and updating patient records with accurate information. Prepare and deliver IV infusions using aseptic techniques, adhering strictly to safety protocols for sterile compounding. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, clarifying medication instructions, and supporting medication administration efforts. Maintain detailed documentation of medication dispensation, inventory logs, and compliance records in accordance with hospital policies. Follow all safety procedures related to aseptic technique, critical care protocols, and hospital regulations to ensure patient safety at all times. Requirements Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication management. Prior experience working in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy or hospital settings is highly preferred. Critical care experience or background in acute care environments is advantageous. Knowledge of IV infusion preparation, aseptic technique, and medication administration procedures. Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient care and communication. Ability to handle intake processes efficiently while maintaining accuracy under pressure. Certification as a pharmacy technician according to state or national standards is required; ongoing education in pharmacy practice is a plus.
