Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract This temporary pharmacy technician role offers an opportunity to contribute essential support within a dynamic pharmacy setting. With a 13-week contract commitment, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, this position demands strong attention to detail and excellent communication to ensure accurate prescription processing and patient service.
Location:
Clearwater, FL Schedule:
Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30
PM Start Date:
ASAP or 1.5 to 2 weeks post-offer clearance
Core Responsibilities:
Process and fill prescriptions accurately, managing insurance adjudications and resolving claim rejections Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification Perform data entry and manage prescription paperwork while maintaining communication with patients and prescribers Maintain precise inventory control through daily cycle counts, restocking, and reviewing medication expirations Assist in medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures Cross-train across pharmacy functions to support departmental needs Adhere strictly to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance compliance regulations
Qualifications and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required Valid PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing Minimum of 2 years' experience as a pharmacy technician; call center experience is a plus Exceptional multitasking, organizational, and time management abilities Strong interpersonal skills with effective communication to patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues This contract role is ideal for a detail-oriented, adaptable professional seeking to apply their pharmacy technician expertise in a team-focused, fast-paced environment.
