Responsibilities include maintaining, ordering and stocking medications and supplies, and preparing and mixing medications under the supervision of the head nurse. This role will also coordinate with drug sales representatives and pharmaceutical companies to obtain samples, teaching aids, and compassionate drugs, and act as a liaison between Physicians, Nursing, and Pharmacy Supervisor. Good communication skills are a must, and bilingual skills are a plus. Immediate opportunity offering rewarding work and competitive pay and benefits!
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 years experience in the healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting as a Pharmacy Technician. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician. Medical Terminology Extreme attention to detail Under supervision of the Head Nurse, mix chemo medications and solutions as prescribed by physicians Excellent Communication skills to interact with a wide variety of personalities Maintain necessary records pertaining to compassionate drugs Restock medications in Nucleus in a timely manner Stock IV carts daily Make IV and port trays daily as needed Make IV bags flushes daily Responsible for daily and annual maintenance of Chemotherapy hood. Responsible for safe and compliant disposal of Bio-hazard waste, if applicable Will have thorough knowledge of Nucleus medication dispensing system. Work with manager to ensure par levels are maintained to assure sufficient stock and minimize waste Review orders for the next day with nursing staff to identify special drug needs
Meetings:
Attend annual Safety/OSHA training meetings. Attend all mandatory staff meetings as necessary. Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times. Assist in training new employees to related job duties. Make sure all medications ordered are received; report any missing medications to Head Nurse or Manager.
