Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract This position offers a 13-week temporary contract opportunity as a Pharmacy Technician in Clearwater, FL, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The start date is ASAP or approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks after clearance. The role focuses on supporting pharmacy operations by processing and filling prescriptions, managing inventory, and assisting with medication packaging and shipping. It demands a detail-oriented professional capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process prescriptions, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections. Prepare, package, and label medications accurately for pharmacist verification. Perform data entry, manage prescription paperwork, and communicate with patients and prescribers. Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, restocking, and monitoring expiration dates. Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures. Cross-train across various pharmacy functions to support department needs. Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. Current PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing. Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; call center experience is a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time efficiently. Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, providers, and internal teams.
