Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician - IV Certified Job Type Contract An established oncology infusion center is seeking an experienced IV/Chemo Pharmacy Technician for a 13-week contract assignment. This role specifically supports outpatient chemotherapy and hematology treatments at a dedicated cancer specialist infusion site.
Location:
On-site at a center in Canton, GA (NO local candidates within 50 miles will be considered) Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Role Overview:
The technician will support the preparation and administration of chemotherapy and infusion therapies within an outpatient oncology department. Responsibilities include IV medication preparation, handling chemotherapy agents, using implanted port access, and assisting with hematology treatments. This role does not involve blood transfusions.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and dispense chemotherapy medications with accuracy and safety Perform IV starts and access implanted ports for medication administration Support infusion therapies for oncology and hematology patients Maintain sterile techniques and comply with all regulatory standards Collaborate with pharmacy and nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years' experience in oncology/infusion pharmacy technician role Current Georgia pharmacy technician license Certification in chemotherapy preparation and administration required Proficient in IV starts and implanted port access Strong knowledge of outpatient oncology infusion processes and safety protocols This opportunity is ideal for a skilled oncology pharmacy technician seeking to contribute to specialized cancer care in an infusion center setting.
