Posting Job Description:
St. Mary's Hospital is seeking a highly motivated team member to join our outpatient pharmacy. This pharmacy will serve our patients upon discharge, St. Mary's staff, and Athens and the surrounding areas. Meds to bed will be an emphasis for this pharmacy team. The Retail Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in dispensing medications, manage billing and insurance processes, answer phone calls, delivering medications to discharge patients, and maintain inventory while operating in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Georgia board of pharmacy, federal laws, and the core values of St. Mary's. The Retail Pharmacy Tech will work with the PIC and pharmacy manager to ensure the best service is offered to our community. Performs pharmacy supportive functions requiring and advanced level of technical knowledge, independent judgment, and a high degree of accuracy. Functions as the team leader for all technicians at that site. Demonstrates performance that consistently meets quality assurance standards, complies with state and regulatory requirements, and assumes responsibility for all aspects of retail pharmacy operations. Participates in any special projects designated by the pharmacist or department manager. Supports the retail pharmacy department at the direction of the pharmacist.
