ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(include, but are not limited to, the following)
  • Accurately prepare new patient profiles
  • Limited designated technical and clerical tasks associated with the preparation, labeling, and dispensing of medications .
  • Proficiently operate the cash register which may include opening/closing functions
  • Accurately/correctly utilizes the pharmacy operation's computer software system
  • Effectively performs and accurately records all assigned quality control activities based on established procedures/protocols
  • Continuously demonstrates and achieves all established customer service standards
  • Answers the telephone, triages to appropriate person, and takes messages
  • Assist in ensuring the pharmacy and related equipment are cleaned and maintained based on established policy and procedures
  • Strictly maintains all pharmacy established Quality Assurance activities
  • Maintains necessary work skills and knowledge by reviewing the literature and attending in-services, seminars, and etc.
  • Follows established channels of authority and communication throughout the organization
  • Attends designated departmental meetings
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures regarding pharmacy services
  • Any other additional duties that are reasonably requested which include operating cash register and opening/closing pharmacy operations.
  • Good knowledge of retail pharmacy procedures, practices and equipment relating to operating a cash register and pharmacy clerical support job functions
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills
  • Ability to effectively and professionally represent the company
  • Strong ability to positively interact with other people e.g. company customers
  • Some knowledge of principles and practices of pharmacy business administration
  • Some knowledge of functions, organizations and governing laws and regulations of pharmacy
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization
  • Other duties as assigned EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year's experience in retail pharmacy as a pharmacy sales support/clerk/cashier position
  • Possess a working knowledge of basic drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug use
