Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring accurate and efficient pharmacy operations. Your dedication to patient service and attention to detail will help deliver exceptional healthcare experiences in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy setting. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in strip packing and possibly IV infusion while supporting patient health and well-being. Responsibilities Prepare, dispense, and label medications accurately under pharmacist supervision, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile preparations Assist with medication intake, inventory management, and medication reconciliation processes to ensure proper stock levels and medication safety Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, clarifying medication instructions, and supporting patient care initiatives Maintain precise documentation of medication administration, intake records, and pharmacy logs in compliance with hospital protocols Support critical care teams by understanding medical terminology, assisting with medication distribution in acute care settings, and ensuring timely delivery of medications Follow aseptic techniques rigorously during sterile compounding procedures to prevent contamination or infection risks Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy plans and ensure seamless patient care transitions Skills Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication management processes Experience working in LTC pharmacy is a bonus. On the job training available. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and support patient needs Demonstrated commitment to patient care excellence with attention to detail and adherence to safety standards Ability to work well with others as a team member.
