Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY
Fills routine orders for unit doses and pre-packed pharmaceuticals in accordance with State and Federal regulations. Provides technical and clerical assistance to the Pharmacist.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Some exposure to cold temperature from freezer. Exposure to noise/vibration from office/pharmacy equipment. Exposure to body fluids, chemicals and contact with patients with communicable diseases. May be required to work with hazardous drugs, depending upon area of assignment. Works on multiple tasks at the same time. Work environment is fast paced, crowded and may be stressful.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A.
EDUCATION
Completion of pharmacy technical program or on-the-job education/pharmacy work experience preferred.
B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
Current Hawaii State certificate of registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
C. EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of work experience, preferably as pharmacy technician/ clerk. Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing. Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Vet Your Health.
