This opportunity is for a Pharmacy Technician position supporting an outpatient pharmacy environment, working Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role starts as a contract-to-hire, offering a pathway to direct hire status.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately process medication orders and prescriptions, ensuring proper packaging and dispensing of pre-manufactured dosage forms. Utilize Pioneer RX system for medication storage, preparation, and dispensing, adhering to established health system policies on cart fill, unit dose distribution, labeling, controlled substances reconciliation, and procurement of pharmaceuticals and supplies. Support pharmacists by preparing educational materials for patients, physicians, and nursing staff. Assist in retrieving precise and timely drug information to aid clinical decision-making. Collect patient-specific data to help pharmacists monitor and modify pharmacotherapy, including screening for IV to oral conversions, renal dosing adjustments, allergy checks, and non-formulary prescribing. Gather clinical pharmacokinetic data such as creatinine clearance calculations to help design safe and effective therapeutic regimens.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience. Experience working in a hospital outpatient pharmacy setting. Knowledge of pharmacy insurance claims processing. Possession of a valid Illinois pharmacy technician license.
