Job DescriptionThe Pharmacy Technician position exists to support the pharmacist(s) in completing the duties associated with entering and managing drug therapy orders, fulfilling and dispensing prescriptions, maintaining pharmacy records and other professional activities. This position is responsible for collaborating with and supporting Pharmacy Leads and Supervisors in day to day activities, issue resolution, and completion of project tasks.

ResponsibilitiesAssist the pharmacist with practice of pharmacy in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, HIPAA guidelines, corporate and departmental policies and procedures.

Assist pharmacists in the picking, labeling, packing and shipping of orders; by accurately interpreting healthcare provider's prescription orders and entering it into the core pharmacy system; notifying the physician of any incomplete or incorrect prescription information and effectively performing the physician outreach process (within the legal limits of pharmacy technician authority).Identifies and recommends process/system improvements that increase efficiency and productivity of Pharmacy Operations functional areas and communication of ideas with Pharmacy Supervisors.

May interact professionally with other healthcare professionals working in the pharmacy to assure accurate provision of services to the patient.

Additional responsibilities may be added as deemed necessary for the business by managementMaintain current licensure and CE requirements as necessary.

Successfully complete role based training requirements, including passing certifications and competency assessments prior to conclusion of training period.

Maintain a work environment that upholds privacy standards required by law and AbbVie.

QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. College or a 2-year Associate Degree is preferred.

Individuals must meet applicable Pharmacy Technician Licensure and Certification requirements no later than first day for employment.

A minimum of 0-2 years' experience within a healthcare provider, PBM, Specialty Pharmacy or Retail/Mail Order Pharmacy setting, familiarity with medical record handling/ documentation, strong core insurance (Medical and Pharmacy Benefit) knowledge, high quality customer service, knowledge of online verification systems, or similar experience preferred.

Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.

Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and ability to make independent, high-quality decisions and operate under general supervision.

Strong computer skills required including quick and accurate data entry; including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word or Excel software applications.

Completes individual tasks, collaborative and cross-functional acumen, and ability to effectively manage time by adhering to deadlines required.

Flexible work schedule, ability to work between the hours of 7am to 7pm.
