Our Pharmacy team plays a key role in ensuring safe, effective, and timely medication use across Union Health facilities.
The Pharmacy Technician at UAP Clinic Pharmacy and Union Hospital Lobby Pharmacy work primarily in an outpatient dispensing role. UAP Clinic Pharmacy, located in Union's Medical Office Building, is a full retail pharmacy that services patients of the health system, patients of the community and is the preferred pharmacy for all Union Health employees. UAP Clinic Pharmacy also distributes medications to all of Union Health's outpatient Primary Care and Specialty offices. Union Hospital Lobby Pharmacy is located in Union's Main Hospital Building and services patients being discharged from the hospital, emergency department and ambulatory surgery. Lobby Pharmacy staff work closely with nurses, providers and the Transitions of Care team to provide medications to patients in hand upon discharge from the health system.
This role reports to the Pharmacy Manager.

Essential Job Duties:
Assists with charging/crediting patient accounts.
Accurately maintains required documentation.
Assists with monetary functions as appropriate.
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the prescription dispensing process.
Monitors medication and supply inventory and receives order from wholesaler.
Maintains a clean and organized environment.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills.
Understanding of general math concepts and ability to work accurately with figures.
General knowledge of the metric system, Latin abbreviations, and medical terminology (on the job training).
Flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
Licenses /
Certifications:
Certified Technician by the Indiana Board of Pharmacy.
