Pharmacy Technician Job Description This role offers an opportunity for a licensed Pharmacy Technician to support prescription fulfillment in a pharmacy setting located in Kansas City, Kansas. You will work closely with an on-site pharmacist and a small team of technicians to ensure safe, accurate, and timely preparation of medications for patients in a healthcare environment. Responsibilities Support the pharmacist in the accurate fulfillment of prescriptions, following all applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and internal procedures. Prepare, label, and organize medications for dispensing under the direct supervision of the pharmacist. Verify prescription information and patient details to help ensure accuracy and safety in medication dispensing. Maintain proper inventory levels by receiving, stocking, and rotating medications and supplies. Assist in maintaining accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and other required documentation. Follow established workflows and standard operating procedures to support efficient pharmacy operations. Help maintain a clean, orderly, and compliant pharmacy workspace. Collaborate with the pharmacist and other technicians to support high-quality patient care and service. Essential Skills Active Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Kansas. Experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting. Knowledge of pharmacy operations, including prescription fulfillment and medication handling. Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures accurately. Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety. Effective communication skills to work closely with the pharmacist and fellow technicians. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications PharmD or pharmacy-related education is beneficial. Prior experience as a fulfillment pharmacy technician is an advantage. Familiarity with pharmacy regulations and best practices in Kansas. Comfort working as part of a small, collaborative team. Work Environment This position is based in a pharmacy located in Kansas City, Kansas. The team typically consists of one on-site pharmacist working with one to two Pharmacy Technicians. You will work in a clinical healthcare environment focused on prescription fulfillment and patient safety. The role involves standing for extended periods, handling medications, and working with pharmacy systems and equipment. The setting emphasizes collaboration, clear communication, and adherence to regulatory standards while maintaining an organized and professional workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
